Applications, Licences and Permits

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming is pleased to announce that as of January 2022, we are now issuing marriage licences. Refer to our marriage licence page for additional information.

Permits are issued, and inspections completed for the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, by the County of Lambton Building Services Department as per By-law 128 of 2024. 

*NEW* The County’s Building Services Department is now accepting building permit applications and by-law reports through Cloudpermit, an online, cloud-based software.  More information can be found on this notice.  To apply for a permit online visit the Online Building Permit Application Webpage.

You must have a permit for any burning within the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, with the exception of a small social campfire (less than 0.5 meters).

You cannot burn noxious materials such as:

• Tires
• Plastics
• Rubber products
• Drywall
• Demolition or construction waste
• Paint
• Animal organic waste
• Battery boxes
• Pressure-treated wood

How to apply for a permit

You can apply for a burn permit at the Municipal Office, open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also send a burn permit application by fax to 519-845-0597.

We only issue burn permits to property owners. If someone other than the property owner wants to obtain a burn permit, they must bring written permission from the property owner where the burning will take place.

Permit fee

There are no fees associated with a burn permit application. 

You must have permission from the Town of Plympton-Wyoming to install a private entrance onto your property from a municipal road.

You can apply for an entrance permit at the Municipal Office, open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also send an entrance permit application by fax to 519-845-0597.

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming issues lottery licences for certain raffles, break open ticket events, bingo events and bazaars. If you'd like to host a different type of lottery event, contact the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Lottery licence fees are regulated through the Town's Fees and User Charges By-law.

Raffle Events

We issue lottery licences for raffle events, including catch the ace, with a prize board of $50,000 or less.

You must submit a raffle lottery report or a catch the ace report within 30 days of event. 

Bazaar Events

A Bazaar is an event where any combination of the following lotteries may be conducted:

1. A raffle (or penny auction) not exceeding $500.00 in prizes
2. A bingo not exceeding $500.00 in prizes
3. A maximum three wheels of fortune with a maximum $2 bet

Bingo Events

We issue lottery licences for bingo events with a prize board of $5,500 or less. Municipalities are only able to issue licences for the following bingo events: regular and monster bingo, media bingo, table board bingo, or bingo events under a bazaar licence

Break Open Tickets

A break open ticket is a device made of cardboard and which has perforated cover window tabs behind which are symbols revealed by tearing open the cover tab. The winning combination of symbols is specified on the back of the ticket. Break open tickets are also known as "nevada tickets" or "pull tabs".

We issue break open ticket licences to eligible local charitable or religious organizations where the break open tickets are not to be sold in conjunction with another gaming event. If you would like to sell break open tickets in conjunction with another lottery event, you must apply to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario

You must have permission from the Town of Plympton-Wyoming to move a building, structure or oversize load across municipal roads.

You can apply for a permit to move a building on Town roads at the Municipal Office, open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also send a permit application by fax to 519-845-0597.

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming requires licences for mobile food and refreshment trucks to operate on private and public property, with exceptions. By-law 6 of 2024 provides all requirements for licences.

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming supports not-for-profit organizations by offering the ability to waive fees associated with facility rentals and waiving the fee for executing a 'Use of Public Facility Agreement'.
