Household Hazardous Waste collection
The County of Lambton Public Works Department and Clean Harbors Canada Inc. will be hosting a mobile Household Hazardous Waste collection event in Sarnia next weekend to offer an additional opportunity for Lambton County residents an opportunity to dispose of their household hazardous waste at no cost.
The one-day only mobile Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lambton College Parking Lot 11, located at 1457 London Road in Sarnia.
"Corrosive, toxic, reactive and flammable materials will be collected at the mobile event," says Matt Deline, Public Works Manager, County of Lambton. "These items should never be placed in a regular landfill because they have the potential to injure workers and damage the environment."
Examples of these types of materials include:
Sharps (hypodermic needles) and fluorescent lightbulbs are also accepted.
Items NOT accepted include: PCBs, commercial, industrial, agricultural, or radioactive wastes, tires, explosives (flares and ammunition), electronics, asbestos and any containers weighing more than 25kg (55lb).
To help make drop-off faster and easier, please package your waste items in disposable cardboard boxes, bags or containers if possible. Site staff will unload your waste in these packages, and they will not be returned.
For safety reasons, please separate lithium batteries from all other battery types prior to
drop-off.
