Help keep our elections fair

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming is committed to administering a fair, transparent, and accessible municipal election. Every elector plays an important role in protecting the integrity of the voting process and maintaining public confidence in election results.

As voting continues for the 2026 Municipal Election, residents are reminded that Ontario's election rules are designed to ensure that every eligible voter has an equal opportunity to participate in a fair and trusted process.

Important Reminders for Electors

Please:

  • Vote only if you are an eligible elector.
  • Vote only once, and only where you are entitled to vote.
  • Do not encourage, assist, or arrange for an ineligible person to vote.
  • Never offer, give, request, or accept money, gifts, services, or any other benefit in exchange for a vote or for a decision about becoming or remaining a candidate.

Help protect the integrity of the election

Election rules help ensure that every vote is counted fairly and that election outcomes reflect the will of eligible electors.

Actions that violate municipal election laws can result in serious penalties, including:

  • Fines of up to $25,000
  • Ineligibility to vote or run in the next regular municipal election
  • Up to six months imprisonment

Residents are encouraged to follow the rules, protect their voting credentials, and contact the Town if they have questions about the voting process.
