Fisher Line Road Rehabilitation Update

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming would like to provide residents with an update on the Fisher Line rehabilitation project between Oil Heritage Road and Hillsboro Road.
Work completed to date includes roadside ditching, drainage improvements, road base rehabilitation, and the placement of new granular material. The final phase of the project involves the application of a new surface treatment.
During construction, several soft areas were identified within the road structure. To help ensure the long-term performance of the rehabilitation, the Town has made the decision to defer the surface treatment until spring 2027.
The affected section of Fisher Line will remain a gravel road over the winter, allowing the road base additional time to settle and consolidate. This approach is expected to provide a stronger, more durable finished road surface.
There will be no additional cost to the Town as a result of completing the surface treatment next spring. Winter maintenance will continue to be provided at the same level of service as other gravel roads within the municipality.
We recognize this is a change from the original project schedule and appreciate the patience and understanding of residents as we take the necessary steps to ensure the best long-term outcome for this important roadway.
