E-Bike & E-Scooter Safety Reminder
As the use of e-bikes and e-scooters continues to grow, residents are reminded that these devices are subject to provincial regulations and local bylaws. E-bike riders must follow the same rules of the road as cyclists, while e-scooters may only be used where permitted by municipal bylaw and are not permitted on sidewalks.
Before you ride, remember:
- E-scooter riders must be at least 16 years old
- Riders under 18 must wear a helmet
- E-scooters cannot carry passengers or cargo
- Use bike lanes where available
- Yield to pedestrians and cyclists
Follow all applicable traffic laws and posted signage
Let's all do our part to keep our roads, pathways, and public spaces safe for everyone. Review our E-Bike & E-Scooter Safety resource to learn more.
