                                                                   Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, October14th, 2026, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

• Heard a delegation from Lynn Eves of the Bluewater Centre for Raptor Rehabilitation and presented her with a certificate to thank her for the work she does to protect and rehabilitate birds of prey.
• Received a report regarding an application for the 2026 Wyoming Community Foundation Grant and endorsed submitting applications for the purchase of volunteer safety vests and radios as well as ongoing funds for the replacement of the Wyoming Pool in the next 10 to 20 years.
• Received a report regarding an application for the 2027 Creative County Grant Program and supported an application for murals at the Wyoming Pool and Centennial Park Washrooms with a maximum budget of $5,000.00.
• Deferred correspondence from the Community Access Recreation Expansion Committee (CARE) regarding a Proposal for an Arena Feasibility Committee until representatives from CARE can come and speak to the 2026-2030 term of council.
• Supported the following items of correspondence:
  • A resolution from the City of Hamilton regarding Expansion of Ontario's Deposit-Return Program.
  • A resolution from the Township of Rama regarding Enhanced Representation in the Regional Conservation Authority Governance Framework.
  • A resolution from the Municipality of South Huron regarding 2027 OPP Policing Costs.
• Directed staff to send a letter to the Solicitor General regarding policing cost increases.
• The Mayor and Council gave closing remarks regarding the 2022-2026 term of Council.
• Held a Court of Revision Meeting for the Plympton Meadows Drain.
• Held a Court of Revision Meeting for the Jardine Drain.
• Held a Court of Revision Meeting for the Anderson and Brand Drain (2026).
