Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, August 26th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a report regarding the requests for apportionment of drainage assessment due to severance of land and accepted agreements for apportionments for the Parker Creek Drain, and Dewar-Forbes Drain.
- Received a report regarding the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department (PWFD) Second Quarter Report and Budget Update.
- Received a report regarding the Errol Village School – Egremont Road Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Review. Council deferred the matter at the request of the Parent-Teacher Council to give their group a chance to review the recommendations. Staff was directed to bring back a by-law to the next Council meeting for Council to consider the extension of a Community Safety Zone on Egremont Road from Fleming Road to Old Mill Road.
- Received a report regarding the John Knox Christian School – Speed Limit and Community Safety Zone Review, approved the establishment of a 60 km/hr speed limit through the John Knox Christian School area, approved the establishment of a Community Safety Zone and passed By-law 84 of 2026 to reflect these approvals.
- Received a report regarding Excessive Water Consumption - Wastewater Billing Adjustment Policy and approved the policy.
- Received correspondence from the Art of Living Foundation regarding rental of the Camlachie Community Centre for an Advance Yoga Meditation Program and approved reducing the rental fees by 25% for this event.
- Held a Consideration Meeting for the Jardine Drain and passed First and Second Reading of By-Law 83 of 2026
- Held a Reconsideration Meeting for the Anderson and Brand Drain (2026) and passed First and Second Reading of By-Law 66 of 2026.
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, August 31st 2026 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Passed By-law 86 of 2026, being a by-law to amend By-law 98 of 2021 (Development Charges By-law) to repeal its expiry date.
- Passed By-law 88 of 2026, to Implement a Community Safety Zone on Egremont Road.
- Held a public meeting regarding Zoning By-law Amendment Application 62 of 2026 and deferred the application requiring the applicant to undertake a noise study, with a vibration study, if required.
