Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, July 27th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Council received a report and endorsed a three-year extension to a Draft Plan of Condominium for Sawmill Creek Holdings Inc.
- Held a Public Planning Meeting regarding Development Charges Review and Study.
Lisa Courtney, Principal and Senior Planner at BM Ross and Associates made a presentation and received questions from members of Council and comments from members of the public. - Council directed staff to prepare an amendment to the current Developments Charges By-law to repeal the expiry date.
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, July 29th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a report regarding 2026 Mid-Year Communications.
- Received a report regarding the Social Media Usage and Community Guidelines and approved said guidelines.
- Received a report regarding the Bannister Drain (2025) tender, accepted the tender from Bruce Poland & Sons Trucking Inc. for $384,154.12 including HST, and passed By-law 75 of 2026 to facilitate this agreement.
- Received a report regarding a request for maintenance on the Dawson Drain and appointed M. Gerrits Consulting Inc. under Section 76 of the Drainage Act to produce a new Schedule of Maintenance based on the request received March 13th, 2026.
- Received a report regarding a Financial Update – 4475 London Line (Reeces Corners Plaza).
- Received a report regarding the Ontario Trillium Foundation Seed Grant - Active Transportation Master Plan and approved an application for the grant.
- Received a report regarding the McEwen Park Public Access and Parking Concerns - Point View Drive and approved the installation of "No-Parking" signage on Point View Drive, north of Baldwin Ave.
- Received a report regarding the Fisher Line Rehabilitation and Rural Surface Treatment Preservation, accepted the tender submitted by Sevcon Paving in the amount of $974,724.77 incl. HST, approved the transfer of $125,000 from the Mandaumin Road project to fund the project deficit, and passed By-law 71 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Proposal for Engineering Services - London Street Reconstruction project, accepted the proposal from R. Dobbin Engineering in the amount of $68,500 plus HST, and passed By-law 72 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Build Communities Strong Fund - Local Impact Stream Southern Ontario - Project Recommendation and approved a grant application to construct a Splash Pad in the Camlachie Area.
- Passed Collection By-law 68 of 2026 for the Plympton-Johnson Drain which imposes a pro-rata levy on ratepayers according to the corresponding schedule and will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
- Passed Collection By-law 69 of 2026 for Maintenance, Repair and Improvement of Drainage Works initiated in the Township of Enniskillen and that the cost of work completed be assessed to property owners based on the attached assessment schedules and collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
- Passed Collection By-law 70 of 2026 for the Fieldview Estates Drain which imposes a pro-rata levy on ratepayers according to the corresponding schedule and will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
- Supported correspondence from MFOA regarding their Request for the Permanent Doubling of the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) Beyond 2026.
- Accepted an application for a tile loan for 3968 Michigan Line and directed staff to process it in accordance with the Tile Drainage Act.
- Directed staff to send a letter to the County of Lambton requesting they complete an origin-destination study for County Road 21 (Broadway Street).
- Approved By-law 73 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement.
