Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 24th, the Council of the Town of
Plympton-Wyoming:
- Presented a certificate to Tanya Brazeau in appreciation of her contributions to Scouting and her community.
- Received certificates from MPP Bailey and Warden Marriott to celebrate the Town’s 25th Anniversary.
- Presented Don Hendrick with the 2026 Senior of the Year Award.
- Endorsed naming the Camlachie Community Centre (CCC) Kitchen the "Jack McEwen Kitchen".
- Supported a motion brought forward as a Notice of Motion from Councillor Rodrigues Reaffirming the Prohibition of Alcohol Consumption in Town Parks and Municipal Properties.
- Received a report regarding the Montgomery Drain Maintenance tender, accepted the tender from McNally Excavating Inc. for $391,432.00 including HST and passed By-law 61 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding Pump Station 8A Control Panel Replacement and approved a sole-source procurement of a replacement control panel for Pump Station 8A from Xylem Canada in the amount of $87,628.29 plus HST.
- Received a report regarding the Temporary Encroachment Agreement for a Patio at 597-599 Broadway Street and passed By-law 60 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Joint Compliance Audit Committee - 2026 Election and approved By-law 56 of 2026 to establish and administer said committee.
- Received a report regarding Municipal Lands at 627 Broadway Street to be Deemed Surplus, declared the subject lands surplus and directed staff to proceed with the surplus land disposition process via sale by public tender.
- Received correspondence submitted by John Knox School and directed staff to investigate the inclusion of a community safety zone for the school area, including any speed limit reductions and provide a report to Council on the matter
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, June 29th, the Council of the Town of
Plympton-Wyoming:
- Deferred a report regarding Private and Semi Private Road Maintenance Considerations.
- Received a report regarding the 2026 Development Charges Draft Background Study.
- Received a report regarding the Community Improvement Plan Update - Proposal for Consulting Services and endorsed contracting B.M. Ross and Associates Limited to update the Community Improvement Plan.
- Received a report regarding the Assumption of Phase 1 of the Waterside Estates Subdivision and passed By-law 64 of 2026 to assume the municipal works, services and infrastructure.
- Received a report in closed session regarding properties eligible to be registered for tax sale and directed staff to proceed with registration and sale when applicable.
