Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, the Council of the
Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Presented a certificate to Aslan Organics for winning the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce 2025 Agri-Business of the Year.
- Heard a delegation from Aslan Organics about who they are and what they do.
- Approved By-law 52 of 2026 to appoint District Chief Dave General.
- Received a report regarding the Town of Plympton-Wyoming Strategic Initiatives Progress as of June 5, 2026.
- Received a report regarding the Proposed Town of Plympton-Wyoming Standardized Branding and endorsed said branding.
- Received a report regarding the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department (PWFD) Fire Master Plan Review for informational purposes.
- Received a report from the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department (PWFD) for the First Quarter Report and Budget Update.
- Received a report regarding the Proposed Basketball Court at King's Square and approved the location of the proposed court.
- Received a report regarding the Canada-Ontario Development Charge Reduction Program and directed staff to author a letter expressing concerns with the program and requesting that the Province of Ontario establish a dedicated program stream for rural and northern communities with more flexible timelines, scaled project requirements, and adjusted eligibility criteria.
- Received a report regarding a request for Drain Improvement for the Paul-Park Drain and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. to produce a report.
- Received a report regarding a request for Drain Improvement for the 10th Concession Drain
and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. to produce a report. - Received a report regarding a request for Drain Improvement for the Maw-Ellerker Drain and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. to produce a report.
- Adopted the amended Engineer’s Report and amended By-law 96 of 2025 for the Bannister Drain and read the by-law a third and final time.
- The following Drain Collection By-laws were approved, which impose a pro-rata levy on ratepayers according to the corresponding schedules. Costs will be collected as outlined within each by-law:
- By-law 54 of 2926 for the Saul Drain (2024).
- By-law 55 of 2026 for the Trusler Drain (2025) and Associated Branch Drains.
- Declared the Plympton-Wyoming Truck and Tractor Event on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 as a "Municipally Significant" event.
- Declared the Plympton-Wyoming Fair on Friday, September 18th, 2026 until Sunday, September 20th, 2026, as a "Municipally Significant" event.
- Deferred the naming of a space in the Camlachie Community Centre until further clarification is provided.
- Supported correspondence item 'h' from Prince Edward County regarding Vacant Commercial Storefront Tax.
- Approved By-law 57 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement considered in closed session and authorized the Chief Administrative Officer to take all administrative steps necessary to implement Council’s direction.
