Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, May 25th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
• Held a Public Meeting regarding Zoning By-law Amendment 31 of 2026 regarding rezoning the retained portion of land from the Agricultural-1 (A1) Zone to a No Dwelling Agricultural (ND-A) Zone to accommodate a future severance and passed By-Law 31 of 2026 to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 26th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
• Heard a delegation from Susan Mills from Huron Shores Area Transit regarding their 2025 Annual Report.
• Heard a delegation from Misty Dale regarding a crosswalk request in the area surrounding Errol Village Public School.
• Received a report regarding a Short-Term Rental Application at 6741 Franklin Avenue.
• Deemed 6741 Franklin Avenue a Pre-existing Short-Term Rental and directed staff to issue a Pre-existing Short-Term Rental Licence accordingly.
• Received a report regarding the Wyoming to Reeces Corners Trail Reconstruction, accepted the tender from Sevcon Paving in the amount of $101,222 plus HST and passed By-law 49 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
• Received a report regarding the Capital Project Status Update – Roads.
• Received a report regarding the Significant Rain Event and Localized Flooding on April 4, 2026 and directed staff to include consideration within the 2027 Capital Budget for an update to the Stormwater Master Plan to assess existing system performance, identify infrastructure constraints, and evaluate potential flood mitigation strategies.
• Received a report regarding the first quarter 2026 budget update.
• Read By-law 17 of 2026 a third and final time for the Jackson Drain.
• Received correspondence from Errol Village Public School regarding rental of Camlachie Community Centre for their 2026 Grade 8 Graduation and approved waiving the rental fees for this event.
• Received a request from the Plympton-Wyoming Special Events Committee and declared the 25th anniversary of the amalgamation of Plympton-Wyoming event on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, as a "Municipally Significant" event.
• Supported correspondence item ‘b’ from Township of Clearview regarding Public Sector Disclosure Inflation Adjustments.
