Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 13th 2026, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

·         Held a moment of silence in honour of Anne McGugan and Cindy Brown.

·         Received a report regarding the Temporary Occupation of a Seasonal Travel Trailer Agreement for Steve and Karrie Webster, and approved By-law 37 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.

·         Received a report regarding a 1-Year Update on Short-Term Rental Licensing.

·         Received a report regarding Short Term Rental Application: 4929 Edith Lane.  Council deemed the property a Pre-existing Short-Term Rental and authorized staff to issue a Licence accordingly.

·         Received a report regarding the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department (PWFD) Annual Evaluation and Year-End Budget Update.

·         Received a report regarding a Temporary Encroachment Agreement for a Patio at 582 Broadway Street and approved By-Law 38 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.

·         Received a report regarding the Jackson Drain tender, accepted the tender from Bruce Poland & Sons Trucking Inc. for $181,623.93 including HST and passed that By-law 45 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.

·         The following Drain Collection By-laws were approved, which impose a pro-rata levy on ratepayers according to the corresponding schedules.  Costs will be collected as outlined within each by-law:

o   By-law 39 of 2926 for the Invercairn Drain

o   By-law 40 of 2026 for the Braaksma Extension Drain and Branch No.4

o   By-law 41 of 2026 for the Plan 28 and 486 Drain

o   By-law 42 of 2026 for the Stonehouse Drain

o   By-law 43 of 2026 for the Confederation Line East Drain, Norman Street South Drain and Extension of the King-Anderson Drain 2024

o   By-law 44 of 2026 for the Park Drain Section 76 Report (2025)

·         Approved By-law 47 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement.

·         Council supported the proposed motion regarding Stabe Provincial Funding for Fire Services.
