Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, April 27th the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Julie Welker and Steve Clark from Drinking Water Source Protection regarding the Petrolia Water Intake reconstruction.
- Received a request for a Second House Agreement for the lands municipally known as 3952 Aberarder Line and Council deferred a report and agreement to the next regular Council meeting.
- Held a Public Meeting regarding Zoning By-law Amendment 28 of 2026 regarding rezoning from Central Commercial 1 (C1) Zone to a site specific Residential 5(10) (R5(10)) Zone in order to permit a Duplex Dwelling and passed By-Law 28 of 2026 to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 29th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Adam Veen from Tourism Sarnia-Lambton regarding their organizational update, current priorities, and ongoing initiatives to support tourism development across Lambton County.
- Heard a delegation from Frank Backx regarding beach access and road conditions in Sunset Acres.
- Received a report regarding a Façade and Structural Improvement Program Submission for 580 Broadway Street and approved the application for funding.
- Received a report regarding Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Program - Private Side Plumbing Inspections and approved proceeding with private-side plumbing inspections in the Hamlet of Camlachie.
- Received a report regarding the Fleming Road Reconstruction Tender Results, accepted the tender from All Season Excavating in the amount of $881,400.00 incl. HST and passed By-law 32 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the 2026 Dust Control Services, approved the negotiated procurement method and approved an extension of the existing contract with Den-Mar Brines Limited for the supply, hauling, and application of 250 flake equivalent tonnes at a total cost of $65,152.50 plus HST.
- Received a report regarding the Enhanced Access to Spaces for Everyone Grant - Project Recommendation and approved an application to the Enhanced Access to Spaces for Everyone Grant for the upgrade of the existing washroom facility at Arnold Minielly Park to AODA standards.
- Received a report regarding Petition for Drainage Works by Owners in Gallimere Beach, accepted the petition as filed, and appointed Spriet Associates Ltd. to make an examination of the area requiring drainage and prepare a report on the matter in conjunction with the other petitions for Gallimere Beach properties.
- Received a report regarding the Judith and Norman Alix Foundation - Project Recommendation and approved an application for the extension of the Lakeshore Road Trail into Camlachie.
- Received a report regarding the MacFarlane Award Drain tender, accepted the tender from Bruce Poland & Sons Trucking Inc. for $26,176.34 including HST and passed By-law 34 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections Update.
Passed By-law 35 of 2026 being a By-Law to provide for a final tax levy for the year 2026 for properties in Residential and Farmland, Farmland Waiting Development, Multi-Residential, New Multi-Residential, Commercial, Shopping Centre, Farmland, Pipeline, Industrial, Large Industrial, Landfill, Parking Lot, Managed Forest, Aggregate Extraction Classes and Small-Scale On-Farm Commercial & Industrial Business First and Second Subclasses and to provide for the payment of taxes and to provide for penalty and interest of 1.25 percent per month. - Received correspondence from Aberarder Central School regarding rental of Camlachie Community Centre for their 2026 Grade 8 Graduation and approved waiving the rental fees for this event.
- Received and approved a request from Maulik Patel to allow a mobile food truck to operate on public property, Camlachie Community Centre, for a private event occurring on May 9, 2026.
- Received a request from Lambton EMS for a Fee Waiver and Mobile Food Truck request to operate on public property at the Camlachie community Centre/Arnold Minelly Park for a private event occurring May 20th, 2026 and approved waiving the rental fee for this event.
