Plympton-Wyoming's 2026 Budget Deemed Adopted

Wyoming, ON – On Monday, February 2^nd 2026, the Mayor of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming signed a mayoral decision deciding not to exercise the power to veto any of the amendments passed by resolution at the Thursday, January 22^nd 2026, and Wednesday, January 28^th 2026 Special Council meetings. As such, the 2026 Mayoral Budget, with amendments, has been deemed adopted.

• Council passed amendments to the 2026 Mayor’s Budget totaling $91,723.64, of which the mayor did not veto any of the amendments.
• The adopted 2026 Budget reflects a 2.5% tax rate increase, which equals an increase of $18.46 per $100,000.00 of assessed value.
• Council also passed By-law 2 of 2026, being a By-law to set the Water and Sewer Rates for 2026 with a 3.6% increase for water and 4.4% increase for sewer.

Mayor Atkinson would like to thank Town staff for their hard work and dedication in helping him prepare the budget. He also commends Council for their exceptional teamwork and commitment to the community. By working collaboratively Mayor Atkinson, Council and staff have brought forward a budget that supports the community’s continued success while maintaining strong fiscal responsibility.
