Notice of Study Commencement - Structures 60 and 80

THE PROJECT:
The Town of Plympton-Wyoming has initiated a study to consider options associated with Structure #80, which spans Hickory Creek along Elmsley Road between Lakeshore Road and Hubbard Line, and Structure #60, spanning Cow Creek along O’Brien Road south of Michigan Line (as shown on the accompanying key plan). Recent engineering inspections of the structures have identified significant deterioration with many bridge components. The crossings are both single lane bridges with low volumes of vehicular traffic. The study will look at options for each bridge, including:
1) Closure of the crossings and removal of the structures, 2) Replacement of the bridges in the same location and 3) Rehabilitation of the existing bridges.

THE STUDY PROCESS:
The purpose of the study is to identify potential environmental impacts associated with the project and to plan for appropriate mitigation of any impacts. The process includes consultation with the public, Indigenous communities, and government review agencies.

PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT:
Public input and comments are invited for incorporation into the planning and design of this project. Initial comments are welcomed and will be received until July 25, 2025, at the address listed below. Any comments collected in conjunction with the study will be maintained on file for use during the project and may be included in project documentation. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record.
