Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing

The Fire Hydrant Flushing program will begin October 9, 2024 and will continue for several weeks throughout the Town.

Residents may experience water discolouration and pressure fluctuations during this period as a result of routine water main flushing to ensure the continued delivery of clean, safe drinking water. Higher flow rates have the potential of releasing minerals from the interior surfaces of older water mains.  Although this does not represent a health concern, residents in the affected areas may experience a slight red or brown discolouration in their tap water.  Customers are advised to avoid washing laundry if they notice the discolouration and to run their taps for 10-15 minutes until the discolouration subsides.
