Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Tracy Pringle, Account Manager – Municipal Stakeholder Relations at Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
- Received a report regarding the Purchase of New Vermeer Woodchipper Through Canoe Procurement Program and approved the quote received from Vermeer Canada Inc. for the purchase of a 2025 Diesel Woodchipper in the amount of $81,449.04 plus HST.
- Received a report regarding the tender to Supply and Place Granular 'M' for Gravel Road Resurfacing and approved the tender from McKenzie & Henderson in the amount of $35.40 per tonne plus HST.
- Received a report regarding the purchase of a half-ton pickup truck and approved the quotation from Ron Clark Motors in the amount of $56,753.59 net HST.
- Received a report regarding a Respectful Workplace Policy for the Town of Plympton-Wyoming and approved Policy #99 - Respectful Workplace Policy.
- Received a report regarding requests for apportionment of drainage assessments and approved the attached Schedule of Assessment due to Severance of Land for the Waterside Estates Drain.
- Received a report regarding an application for funding from the Rural Ontario Development Program Grant Intake 2 Recommendation and supported the application to Update the Existing Community Improvement Plan and Grant Program to include the Camlachie Business Area and to include additional economic development initiatives.
- Received a report regarding the PSD Citywide Maintenance Manager Proposal, approved the proposal submitted by PSD Citywide in the amount of $106,400 plus HST and passed By-law 19 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Proposal for Engineering Services - Isabella Street Reconstruction project, approved the proposal from BM Ross and Associates Ltd. in the amount of $119,800 plus HST, and passed By-law 20 of 2026 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Ontario Trillium Foundation - Capital Grant Recommendation and supported an application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for the reconstruction of the Wyoming to Reece's Corners Trail.
- Read By-law 123 of 2025 a third and final time for the MacFarlane Award Drain Extension.
- Read By-law 124 of 2025 a third and final time for the Trusler Drain (2025) and Associated Branch Drains.
- Passed By-law 14 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement with his Majesty the King in Right of Ontario for the 2025-2026 Pothole Prevention and Repair Program.
- Passed By-law 15 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement with his Majesty the King in Right of Ontario for the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF) Grant for the Wyoming Pool Rehabilitation Project.
- Passed By-law 18 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement with the Huron Shores Optimists for the use of public facilities and waived the $80 agreement fee.
- Passed By-law 21 of 2026 to facilitate an agreement with his Majesty the King in Right of Ontario for the Rural Ontario Development Program Intake 1 - Community Development.
- Supported correspondence item ‘b’ from County of Prince Edward regarding Protect Our Food Act.
- Supported correspondence item ‘d’ from Township of Joly regarding Opposition to Consolidate Conservation Authorities.
- Supported correspondence item ‘e’ from Township of Perry regarding Reduced Rate Distribution of Library Resources.
- Held a Consideration meeting for the Jackson Drain Improvements (2026) and passed first and second readings of Provisional By-law 17 of 2026.
- Held a Court of Revision for the Toronto Street Drain - Thames Street East and Niagara Street East Branch Drains.
- Held a Court of Revision for the Barnes Drain (2025) and Associated Branch Drains.
