Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

·       Heard a delegation from the residents of Blue Coast Estates regarding the 2025 Residential Tax Rate and MPAC assessment structure.

·       Heard a delegation from Ross Stuart and Greg Nemcek from the Lambton Group OPP Detachment Board regarding 2025 Year in Review for Policing in Plympton-Wyoming.

·       Received a report regarding a request for Drain Improvement for the Keating Drain and appointed M. Gerrits Consulting Inc. under Section 78 of the Drainage Act to produce a report based on the improvement request received November 26, 2025.

·       Received a report regarding a request for Drain Improvement for the Jardine Drain and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. under Section 78 of the Drainage Act to produce a report based on the improvement request received October 28th, 2025.

·       Received a report regarding Petition for Drainage Works by Owners in Gallimere Beach, accepted the petition as filed on December 19, 2025, and appointed Spriet Associates Ltd. to make an examination of the area requiring drainage and prepare a report on the matter in conjunction with the other petitions for Gallimere Beach properties.

·       Passed By-law 1 of 2026 being a By-law to Authorize the Borrowing of $1,000,000.00 (One Million Dollars) as temporary financing for the Town of Plympton-Wyoming.

·       Passed Collection By-law 3 of 2026 for the Falconer Ramsey Drain and imposed an interim levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule A which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.

·       Passed By-law 4 of 2026 being a By-law to facilitate an agreement (as amended) with Marcotte Disposal Inc. for waste collection and disposal services.

·       Passed By-law 5 of 2026 being a By-law to authorize the execution of an agreement with his Majesty the King in Right of Ontario for the Ontario Fire Protection Grant.

·       Council supported the following items of correspondence:

o   Resolution from the AMO regarding OMERS Governance Changes.

·       Held a Court of Revision for the MacFarlane Award Drain.

·       Held a Court of Revision for the Trusler Drain and Associated Branch Drains.
