Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, November 24th, 2025, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Heard a presentation from Craig Ferguson, Principal, Parcel Economics and Will Nywening, Senior Planning Official, County of Lambton related to Town’s Preliminary Land Needs Assessment.
  • Supported a resolution regarding Bill 68 – Modernizing Ontario’s Conservation Authorities Act.
  • Received a report regarding an interim control by-law preventing the construction of Cannabis Cultivation and/or Production Facilities.
  • Received a request from The Wyoming Lions Club regarding their Gazebo Project and Council approved the return of the Site Plan Control Agreement Deposit for $10,000 and waived the $2,000 refundable Building Permit Deposit.
  • Appointed Strong Nenniger Law Professional Corporation as the Town’s legal counsel in relation to OLT appeal’s 25-000825 and 25-000826.

Wyoming, ONAt its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Presented Retired Lieutenant Pete Moraal with an award to recognize 21-years of service with the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department and 30 years total service as a fire fighter in Ontario.
  • Presented Retired Fire Fighter Neil Bain with an award to recognize his 35-years of service with the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department.
  • Received a report regarding an Employee Recognition Program Policy and approved Policy #90 - Employee Recognition Program Policy.
  • Received a report regarding the Plympton- Wyoming Fire Department (PWFD) Third Quarter Report and Budget Update.
  • Received a report regarding the 2025 Asset Management Plan and approved the plan as presented.
  • Received a report regarding Internet and Telephone Voting Services Provider for the 2026 Municipal Election and passed By-law 116 of 2025 to facilitate an agreement with Simply Voting Inc.
  • Received a report regarding 2026 Grant Applications, directed staff to include up to $30,000 in the draft 2026 budget for consideration during deliberations where they will decide on the successful grant applicants.
  • Read By-law 93 of 2025 a third and final time for the Shea-Ferguson Drain.
  • Passed By-law number 117 of 2025 to authorize the issuance of Debentures for the construction of the Errol Road Branch Drain.
  • Passed By-law 118 of 2025 to authorize the use of alternative voting methods (Internet and Telephone) for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.
  • Supported correspondence item ‘f’ from East Gwillimbury regarding Opposition to the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025.
