Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

·       Presented Fire Fighter Joe Emilio with an award to recognize his 35-years of service with the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department.

·       Presented Captain Brian Freer with an award to recognize his 30-years & 35-years of service with the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department.

·       Received a report regarding an Employee Recognition Program Policy and deferred the approval of the report allowing for staff to confirm if Town Firefighters are included in the policy or if they have their own recognition program and policy.

·     Received a report regarding a Request for Apportionment of Drainage Assessment Due to Severance of Land and approved the apportionment for the Plympton-Anderson Drain.

·     Received a report regarding 2026 Comprehensive Fees, repealed By-law 50 of 2025 effective January 1st, 2026, and passed By-law 114 of 2025.

·     Received a report regarding 2025-2026 Winter Operations Plan and approved the plan.

·     Received a report regarding the Proposal for Engineering Services - Fleming Road Reconstruction from Rear Street to Queen Street project and approved the proposal from R. Dobbin Engineering in the amount of $34,500 plus HST.

·     Received a report regarding the Tender for the Supply and Delivery of Winter Sand for the 2025-2026 Season and accepted a tender from Van Bree Sand & Gravel Ltd. in the amount of $17.25 per tonne plus HST.

·     Received a report regarding a request for Drain Improvement for the McFarlane Drain and defeated a motion that would have appointed Michael Gerrits, P.Eng, through R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. under Section 78 of the Drainage Act to incorporate the request into an ongoing report.

·     Received a report regarding a Community Engagement Strategy Policy and approved Policy #98 - Community Engagement Strategy Policy.

·     Supported correspondence item 'h' from the Municipality of Wawa regarding Accessible and Effective Alcohol Container Return System in Ontario.
