Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, September 24th 2025, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Matt Vandommelen of Citywide Enterprise related to Asset Management.
- Received a report regarding a Municipal Flag Policy and adopted Policy #95.
- Received a report regarding an Agreement for Mobile Devices and Services with Rogers Communications Canada Inc. and approved By-law 99 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the petition for Drainage Works by Owners for Hillcrest Heights. Council accepted the Petition and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. to prepare a report.
- Received a report regarding the Fieldview Estates Drain and accepted a tender from William Johnson Construction Ltd. In the amount of $37,680.42 including HST and passed By-law 100 of 2025 to facilitate an agreement.
- Received a report regarding a Request for Apportionment of Drainage Assessment Due to Severance of Land and approved the apportionment agreement for the Greenless Drain.
- Received a report regarding 2025 Road Culvert Replacements and accepted a tender from Murray Mills Excavating & Trucking Ltd. In the amount of $129,693.49 including HST and passed By-law 101 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the McAndrew Drain Maintenance and accepted a tender from Murray Mills Excavating & Trucking Ltd. In the amount of $157,318.60 including HST and passed By-law 102 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding Public Works Department Surplus Vehicles/Equipment and deemed the listed items surplus to be auctioned off on https://www.govdeals.ca/ and advertised in the local newspaper.
- Received a report regarding Review and Management of Unimproved, Unassumed and Surplus Road Allowances, approved the policies for the Management of Unassumed, Unimproved and Surplus Roads, and directed staff to complete a municipal wide review of unopened and underutilized road allowances and bring forward a list of roads for surplus declaration and divestment in accordance with the Town's Surplus Lands By-law.
- Received a report regarding Proposed 2026 Amendments to Current Operations, Maintenance and Management Services Agreement with Jacobs and approved Amendment No. 11, being an extension of the existing contract and base fee increase.
- Received a report regarding the 2024 Financial Statements and directed staff to post the statements on the Town’s website and submit to the applicable provincial ministries.
- Read By-law 61 of 2025 a third and final time for the Plan 28 and 486 Drain.
- Read By-law 71 of 2025 a third and final time for the Fieldview Estates Drain.
- Approved By-law 103 of 2025 being a By-law to Appoint Officers, Board and Committee Members and Employees of the Corporation of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
- Received correspondence from Enbridge regarding Phase 3 of the Natural Gas Expansion Program (NGEP) and supported the draft resolution and draft support letter.
- Supported the naming of Diamond #1 at Arnold Minielly Park to the Jack and Evelyn Scott Ball Diamond.
- Directed staff to send a letter to St. Clair Region Conservation Authority and cc MPP Bailey, requesting the SCRCA consider a 3% or less levy increase for 2026.
- Held a Consideration meeting for the Bannister Drain and passed first and second readings of Provisional By-law 96 of 2025
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, September 29th 2025, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Jessica Jessome and Jennifer Bailey regarding proposed Zoning By-law Amendment 38 of 2024.
- Held a Public Meeting regarding Zoning By-law Amendment 98 of 2025 regarding Additional Residential Units and directed staff to bring forward an amending by-law to Council.
