Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, July 28th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received correspondence from Gold Leaf Properties requesting relief from Council Direction to install a sidewalk from 4398 Confederation Line to connect to the existing sidewalk on Second Street, and request instead to provide a cash-in-lieu payment of $13,500.00 to go towards the future installation of a sidewalk by the Town. Council defeated this motion but passed a new motion instructing staff to work with Gold Leaf to find a mutually beneficial solution for pedestrian connectivity.
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- · Heard a delegation from Heather & Bryce Moor and Lynn & David Clarke related to the Douglas Line Drainage Assessment for 4089 & 4099 Douglas Line.
- Heard a delegation from Lorne Muhlig, from Golflinks/Sawmill Creek Golf Resort related to the Sawmill Creek Golf Course Pond Weir.
- Passed a motion to reconsider Motion 19 from the April 30th 2025 Council Meeting. The motion was to direct staff to send notice for the removal of obstruction(s) as per Section 80 of the Drainage Act, to the owner of the properties known as PLYMPTON CON 9 PT LOT 9 and PLYMPTON CON 9 PT LOT 8 CON FRONT PT LOT 19 N OF EGREMONT RD. RP 25R-3867 PART 5; the motion was carried once more.
- Directed staff to apply for the Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone Grant to extend the trail along Lakeshore Road.
- Received a report regarding the Memorial Banner Program Update.
- Received a report regarding the May 2025 Budget Update.
- Received a report regarding the Procurement Policy Update and approved By-law 79 of 2025, regarding the Procurement Policy.
- Council supported the following items of correspondence:
o Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan Resolution Re Bill C-2, Section 77.5(1)
o Premier Ford Proposals Follow-up dated 2025-07-21
- Approved By-law 78 of 2025 for Maintenance, Repair and Improvement of Drainage Works for the Warwick Maintenance Archer Drain (Schedule A).
- Approved By-law 63 of 2025 for updates to the Town’s Cemetery By-law.
- Approved By-law 80 of 2025 to authorize the execution of an Agreement between Local Wyoming Ontario Corporation o/b Liam Austin for 639 Broadway Street.
- Held a Court of Revision meeting for the Plan 28 and 486 Drain; Haywood Appeal
(plan 28, lot 36) was dismissed by the Court. - Held a Consideration meeting for the Park Drain Section 76 Report (2025) and passed first and second readings of Provisional By-law 76 of 2025.
- Held a Consideration meeting for the Waterside Estates Drain and passed first and second readings of Provisional By-law 77 of 2025.
