Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a report regarding the Town of Plympton-Wyoming Strategic Initiative Progress for the Current Term of Council.
- Received a report regarding a Public Facilities Agreement for Lakeshore Community Church and Council waived the license fee and gazebo rental fees and passed By-law 47 of 2025 to facilitate the user agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Petition for Drainage Works by the Road Authority for Errol Woods Subdivision, Phase 1 and 2 and Council accepted the Petition and appointed M. Gerrits Consulting Inc. to prepare a report.
- Received a report regarding Summary of Requests for Drain Maintenance between January 1, 2025 and April 30, 2025 as information.
- Received a report regarding the Petition for Drainage Works by Owners for Concession 1, Part Lots 16 and 17. Council accepted the petition under Section 4 of the Drainage Act, and appointed M. Gerrits Consulting Inc. to prepare a report.
- Received a report regarding 2024 Structure Inspections – Bridges and Culverts and directed staff to procure a qualified Consultant to undertake a Municipal Class Environment Assessment on Bridge 80 – Elmsley Road and Bridge 60 – O’Brien Road.
- Received a report regarding the Huroncrest Phase 1-Water Service Replacements and accepted a tender by St. Clair Mechanical in the amount of $214,708.51 net HST and passed By-law 48 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Program and Council approved the implementation of the program.
- Received a report regarding the 2025 Asphalt Resurfacing-Tender Results and Council accepted a tender by DiCocco Contractors Inc. in the amount of $271,673.55 plus HST and passed By-law 49 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding the purchase of a half-ton pickup truck and the quotation from Ron Clark Motors was accepted in the amount of $52,024.00 plus HST.
- Received a report regarding the 2025 Employee benefits renewal on June 1, 2025 and Council directed staff to proceed with the approved renewal.
- Received a report regarding the Rehabilitation of Wyoming Pool Upgrade and approved the formation of a Fundraising Committee for future replacement.
- Passed By-law 50 of 2025 being a By-law to establish fees and user charges to provide an update to include Short-Term Rental Licensing Fees.
- Passed By-law 51 of 2025 being a By-law to appoint a Town Representative to the County of Lambton Seniors’ Advisory Committee.
- Council received correspondence from Aberarder Central School regarding rental of Camlachie Community Centre for 2025 Grade 8 Graduation and Council supported waiving the rental fees for this event.
- Council received a request from Lambton EMS for a Fee Waiver and Mobile Food Truck request to operate on public property at the Camlachie community Centre/Arnold Minelly Park for a private event occurring May 21st, 2025 and Council approved waiving the rental fee for the Camlachie Community Centre.
