Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 29th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Received a report regarding a Second House Agreement for the lands municipally known as 5124 Douglas Line and passed By-Law 29 of 2025 to execute the agreement.
  • Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 5706 Lakeshore Rd Line, approved Zoning By-law Amendment 2 of 2025 and passed By-law 2 of 2025 as presented, being a By-law to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
  • Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for the lots at King St and Fleming St which makeup Subdivision 38T-2001 (Trail’s Edge), approved Zoning By-law Amendment 19 of 2025 and passed By-law 19 of 2025 being a By-law to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
  • Held a Public Meeting regarding Short-Term Rental Licensing By-law 20 of 2025, and passed the By-law allowing for the Licensing, Regulation and Enforcement of Short-Term Rentals in the Town of Plympton-Wyoming. Subsequently a public meeting was held for consideration of Official Plan Amendment 57 and Zoning By-law Amendment 35 of 2025 to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law of the Town to allow for the regulation and enforcement of Short-Term Rentals. Official Plan Amendment 57 and Zoning by-law Amendment 35 of 2025 were approved and By-law 34 of 2025 and By-law 35 of 2025 were passed, being by-laws to amend the Town’s Official Plan and Zoning By-law 97 of 2003 respectively.

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 30th the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Deferred consideration of a report regarding a tender to purchase a M7 Tractor with Votex Flail Mower through the Canoe Procurement Group.
  • Received a report regarding the Michigan Line Reconstruction-Phase 4 Tender Results and accepted the tender from Sevcon Paving in the amount of $416,063.91 plus HST and passed By-law 43 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the Canton Park Accessible Washroom Tender, accepted the tender from Dixin Construction Ltd. For $273,600 plus HST and all budget overages be funded by Infrastructure Reserves and passed By-law 42 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding Parks and Recreation Master Plan – Consultant Evaluation and Recommendation, accepted the proposal from Monteith brown Planning Consultants for $65,585 plus HST, and passed By-law 41 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the Plympton WWTP SCADA and PLC Upgrade-Design, Contract Administration and System Integration Proposal for $304,347.28 plus HST, accepted the proposal from Eramosa Engineering Inc., and passed By-law 44 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the Proposal to Supply and Install Playground Equipment at Errol Woods Park and Blue Point Park, accepted proposal from Blue Imp Recreational Equipment for $134,378.50 plus HST, and passed By-law 40 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the Stonehouse Drain, accepted the Stonehouse Drain Addendum, accepted Engineer’s Report for Stonehouse Drain Addendum, and passed By-law 45 of 2025 to amend the original By-law.
  • Received a report regarding Carmichael Drain Maintenance Tender Results, accepted the maintenance tender from Bruce Poland & Sons Trucking Inc. for $33,876.84 including HST, and passed By-law 39 of 2025 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Supported a motion put forward by Councillor Rodrigues regarding opposition to the proposed expansion of Strong Mayor Powers.
  • Supported a motion for removal of obstruction(s) as per Section 80 of the Drainage Act to the owner of the properties known as Plympton Con 9, Pt. Lot 9 and Plympton Con. 9 Pt Lot 8, Con Front Pt Lot 19 N of Egremont Rd. RP 25R-3867 Part 5.
  • Held a drain consideration meeting for the Kernohan O’Donnell Drain.
  • Held a drain consideration meeting for the McDonald-Gillatly and McDonald Drains.
