Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, December 11th the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a presentation from the Lambton Seniors' Advisory Committee.
- Presented a certificate to Jake Van Rooyen, recognizing his retirement from the Bluewater Hatchery.
- Received a report regarding the Website Transition Update, waived the condition in the agreement with GHD Digital to wait until budget approval to commence the website transition to Govstack, thereby committing the funds now, allowing the website transition to commence in January 2025.
- Received a report regarding an All-Way Stop Control at Fleming Road and Queen Street and directed staff to install all-way stop control at Fleming Road and Queen Street.
- Received a report regarding the 2025 Comprehensive Fees and User Charges By-law; repealed By-law 3 of 2024 effective January 1st, 2025; and passed By-law 134 of 2024.
- Received a verbal update regarding parking on Erie Street from McKay Park to the cenotaph and directed staff to install gravel for parking.
- Received a report regarding the upcoming hearing before the Board of Directors of the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority and directed staff to express their support on behalf of the McColl O'Donnell Drain landowners.
- Received a report regarding a Petitions for Drainage Works by Owners in Gallimere Beach, accepted the petitions as filed on November 4, 2024, and appointed Spriet Associates Ltd. to make an examination of the area requiring drainage and prepare a report on matter.
- Received a report regarding the Saul Drain Tender, accepted the tender from JLH Excavating Inc. for $104,699.02 including HST, and passed By-law 145 of 2024 to facilitate the agreement.
- Council supported the following items of correspondence:
- An email from the City of Cambridge regarding issues related to mental health, addition and homeless encampments.

Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, December 16th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a Delegation from Segal Construction related to Affordable, Energy-Efficient Homes through Innovative Public-Private Partnerships.
- Received a report regarding a Simplified Short-Term Rental By-law and approved the By-law in draft form, with direction for changes to be made by staff, to be brought back in a finalized version for consideration alongside the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments.
- Received a report regarding an update on additional Minister’s regulation for Additional Residential Units.
- Received a report regarding the assumption of services for Subdivision 38T-07003 (Silver Springs) Phase II and approved By-law 147 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding a 2024 Planning Update.
- Directed staff to not apply for the Government of Canada Short-term Rental Enforcement Fund as the Town’s Short-Term Rental program would not be in place in time to qualify.
- Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 5706 Lakeshore Rd, approved Zoning By-law Amendment 138 of 2024 and passed By-law 138 of 2024 being a By-law to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
