Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 13th the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Presented District Chief Scott Jordan with an award to recognize his 45-years of service with the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department.
  • Received a verbal update from staff regarding Bill 185 - Changes to Notice Requirements as previously received in a Staff Report at the October 28th, 2024 Planning Council Meeting.
  • Received a report regarding the Limited Services Agreement for Beverly Glen, California Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard and passed By-law 135 of 2024 to facilitate an agreement.
  • Received a report regarding a new Schedule of Assessment for the repair and maintenance of the Kernohan O'Donnell Drain and withdrew the May 10, 2023, appointment of M. Gerrits Consulting Inc. until the Tribunal grants permission for the procurement of a report.
  • Deferred a report regarding the 2025 Comprehensive Fees and User Charges By-law for more information on development engineering review fees.
  • Received a report regarding Public Works - Roads Department Surplus Equipment and declared the 2002 Freightliner Single Axle Plow Truck as surplus equipment.
  • Passed By-law 136 of 2024 being a By-law to Appoint Officers, Board and Committee Members and Employees of the Corporation of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
  • Held a Court of Revision Meeting for the Saul Drain.
  • Directed staff to draft a letter outlining the Town’s concerns with Enbridge Gas’ increasing rates due to the carbon tax and ask that they look for alternatives.
  • Council supported the following items of correspondence:
    • A resolution from the Town of Aurora regarding municipalities receiving a fair share of provincial and federal funding.
