Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, October 9th the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Wolverine Ltd. regarding a 3D model of the former Plympton Township Hall.
- Received a report regarding the Proposed Huron Shores Optimist Community Project Update and Grant Opportunity and approved an application to Stream 2 of the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund for the Proposed Camlachie Recreation Facility.
- Received a report regarding a Second House Agreement Request for 4386 Confederation Line and passed By-law 120 of 2024 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding an application for funding for the Housing Enabling Core Servicing Grant and supported an application to rehabilitate Confederation Line from Mandaumin Road to the Village of Wyoming.
- Received a report regarding the 2024 Sidewalk Removals & Restoration - Tender Results and accepted the tender from BKT Excavation in the amount of $15,884.64 including HST.
- Received a report regarding the tender results for the supply and delivery of sand for the 2024/2025 winter season and accepted the bid from Van Bree Sand & Gravel Ltd. for $16.85 per tonne plus HST.
- Received a report regarding the Confederation Line and Broadway Street Hydro Relocation and Traffic Signal Installation, accepted Hydro One's proposal to relocate their utility to accommodate the new traffic signal at a cost of $71,885.81 plus HST, and approved the quote from Bluewater Power in the amount of $262,273.13 plus HST to install the traffic signal.
- Received a report regarding 2024 Trenchless Sanitary Sewer Repairs and accepted the quote from GFL Environmental in the amount of $36,950 plus HST as an extension of an existing contract.
- Received a report regarding the Tender Results for the Hicks Drain Maintenance, accepted the tender from GM Construction for $55,918.05 including HST, and passed By-law 123 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding the Tender Results for the Michigan Line/Core Drain Culvert Replacement, accepted the tender from JLH Excavating Inc. for $73,274.50 plus HST, and passed By-law 125 of 2024.
- Received a petition regarding a limited services agreement and directed staff to work with the petition organizer to formulate a limited services agreement for Santa Monica Blvd, California Ave, and Beverly Glen for Council's consideration at a future meeting.
- Held a Consideration Meeting for the Saul Drain.
- Council supported the following items of correspondence:
- A resolution from the Municipality of Waterloo regarding solving the humanitarian crisis
- A resolution from the Western Ontario Wardens Caucus regarding blue box transition
