Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, September 25th the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a verbal update from staff regarding traffic and safety on Fleming Road and Lakeshore Road, as previously heard by a delegation at the July 31st, 2024 Regular Council meeting.
- Received a report regarding the Douglas Line and Oil Heritage Road (CR30) Intersection Review.
- Directed staff to budget for illumination at the corner of Douglas Line and Oil Heritage Road for consideration in the 2025 budget deliberations.
- Received a report regarding the Front Street, London Street and Plympton Street Surface Asphalt - Tender Results; accepted the tender from Sevcon Paving for $162,009.90 plus HST; and passed By-law 116 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding the 2024 Culvert Replacements Various Locations - Tender Results, accepted the tender from JLH Excavating for $79,527.00 plus HST, and passed By-law 117 of 2024.
- Defeated a report regarding the Dog Tag Licensing Program that would have directed staff to establish a 'life of the dog' licensing tag program, establish an animal control reserve, and approved fees of $100 per dog for dog owners that have purchased a tag for at least the past 5 years, and $150 per dog for any new licences sold.
- Directed staff to create an animal control reserve for 2025 and that the surplus from dog tag sales be transferred to that reserve each year end.
- Received a report regarding an application for funding for the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund and supported an application to rehabilitate the Wyoming Pool.
- Directed staff to prepare a letter, on behalf of Council, asking the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority to exercise restraint in their 2025 budget, keeping it at the inflation rate.
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, September 30th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 3981 Hyslop Line, approved Zoning By-law Amendment 114 of 2024 and passed By-law 114 of 2024 being a By-law to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
- Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 3828 Egremont Road, approved Zoning By-law Amendment 115 of 2024 and passed By-law 115 of 2024 being a By-law to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
- Heard a delegation from Renzo Ferrera and John D’Andrea regarding concerns with Subdivision Requirements related to Egremont Estates.
- Received a report regarding the County of Lambton's Decision and Conditions Regarding Draft Plan of Subdivision Application for 3096 Lakeshore Road be received and that Council directs staff to:
- Appeal the County of Lambton Decision in regards to Draft Plan of Subdivision (38T-24001) to the Ontario Land Tribunal to ensure Councils and the community concerns are addressed and;
- Request that County of Lambton Council delegates Draft Plan of Subdivision and Draft Plan of Condominium approval authority to Town of Plympton-Wyoming Council instead of County Staff as has been done for City of Sarnia and the Municipality of Lambton Shores.
- Received a report outlining key changes with the 2024 Provincial Planning Statement.
