Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 12th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Heard a delegation from Clinton Harper on behalf of Lambton Area Water Supply System (LAWSS) regarding the restructuring of LAWSS Board as a Municipal Service Corporation, supported the restructuring, and directed the General Manager of LAWSS to report back findings of the restructuring investigation at a future Council Meeting.
- Received a report regarding Traffic Calming Study in the Hamlet of Camlachie and directed staff to:
- Maintain the existing 50 km/hr maximum speed posting within the Hamlet of Camlachie;
- Implement 60km/hr transition zones on Camlachie Road (south of the Hamlet) and Egremont Road (east of the Hamlet); and,
- Develop a Traffic Calming Policy with weighted implementation criterion which includes a Public Consultation component to solicit feedback on traffic calming measures.
- Received a report regarding a Petition for Drainage Works by Owners – 4386 Egremont Road and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. to make an examination of the area requiring drainage and prepare a report on the matter.
- Received a report regarding the first quarter 2024 budget update.
- Received a report regarding a Media Relations Policy for Plympton-Wyoming staff and adopted policy #73.
- Received a report regarding the Updated Municipal Drain Assessment Billing, Payment, and Debentures Policy and adopted the policy.
- Received a report regarding a Line Stops to Facilitate Future Reconstruction Projects in Wyoming, accepted the quote from TKO Industrial Services for $44,839.64 plus HST, and passed By-law 70 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding CCTV Inspection, Sewer Flushing and Catchbasin Cleaning, accepted the revised tender submitted by GFL Environmental Ltd in the amount of $72,833.33 plus HST, and passed By-law 71 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding 2024 - 2026 Plympton-Wyoming Cemeteries Groundskeeping Services and passed By-law 73 of 2024 to facilitate a groundskeeping agreement.
- Received a report regarding the purchase of a 2001 E-One Cyclone II / Superior Rear Mount Ladder with a 1500 GPM Hale Pump and approved the purchase of the truck from 1200 Degrees for $42,000.00 plus HST.
- Received correspondence from the Plympton-Wyoming Special Events Committee and declared the Canada Day Celebration a “Municipally Significant” event in accordance with the regulation for a Special Occasion Permit by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
