Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Thursday, April 25th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a report regarding the Town of Plympton-Wyoming Strategic Plan Update and Initiatives for the Current Term of Council and endorsed the 2023 to 2028 Strategic Plan and the 2023 to 2027 Strategic Initiatives, as amended.
- Received a report regarding the Carmichael Drain Tender, accepted the tender from Murray Mills Excavating & Trucking (Sarnia) Ltd. for $197,693.50 including HST, and passed By-law 43 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding the 2024 Hardtop Resurfacing Tender Results, accepted the tender from Sevcon Paving for $270,072.49 plus HST, and passed By-law 41 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding the Shoreline Protection at 4130 Bluepoint Drive, waived the Procurement Policy in favour of the "Negotiated Method", and approved the quote submitted by Gordon Shoreline Marine in the amount of $198,000 plus HST for the installation of steel sheet pile at 4130 Bluepoint Drive.
- Received a report regarding the 2018-2029 Water Works Financial Plan Update and approved the Water Works Financial Plan Update to include the 2029 calendar year.
- Received a report regarding the Request for Proposal to Supply and Install Playground Equipment at Plumb Park and Swing Set at O'Brien Park, accepted the proposal from Blue Imp Recreational Equipment for $36,463.66 net HST, and passed By-law 44 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding the Mobile Food and Refreshment Vehicle Proposal - JJ's Snack Shack, approved the proposal submitted by Jessica White to provide mobile food truck services at McKay Park, and passed By-law 45 of 2024, as amended.
- Received a report regarding Outdoor Movie Projector Rentals to Local Non-Profit Service Clubs, approved an amended policy to facilitate the rentals, and directed staff to advise local organizations of the policy, and include information regarding the rental policy and process on the Town's website.
- Received a report regarding Detailed Text in Meeting Minutes and Linking YouTube Videos and directed staff to:
- Not include minutes text for regular Council or Committee Meetings, unless it is a procedural matter, Councillor's Reports or New Business (items that were not included on the Agenda),
- Include minutes text for Closed Meetings,
- Include details regarding those that spoke at a public meeting, including Committee of Adjustment, and
- Add YouTube links to all meeting minutes, and amend the Broadcasting and Recording of Meetings Policy that the Town’s general practice is to keep recordings for a minimum of 4 years.
- Received a report regarding an Agreement for the Provision of Additional Services under the Community Safety and Policing Act and passed By-law 42 of 2024 to facilitate the agreement.
- Received a report regarding Applications to Fund the Restoration of the Camlachie Cenotaph and directed staff to submit an application to Veterans Affairs Canada and the Judith & Norman Alix Foundation.
- Passed By-law 14 of 2024 for the Invercairn Drain, being a By-law to provide for drainage works in the Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
- Passed By-law 46 of 2024 being a By-law to Appoint Officers, Board and Committee Members and Employees.
Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, April 29th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Held a Public Meeting regarding 2 planning applications for 3096 Lakeshore Road (south of Egremont Road, east of Mandaumin Road, west of Craigmere Lea, and north of Lakeshore Road), and received comments from the public pertaining to both applications:
- On behalf of the County of Lambton, deferred Draft Plan of Subdivision 38T-24001 to allow further investigation of access, fencing, parkland dedication, drainage, stormwater management areas, and a potential crosswalk.
- Deferred Zoning By-law Amendment 22 of 2024.
- Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 0 Fisher Line (northwest corner of Oil Heritage Road and Fisher Line), and approved Zoning By-law Amendment 37 of 2024.
- Deferred a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 5309 & 5310 Leyton Street, Wanstead, at the request of the Applicant’s Planning Consultants to allow the applicant sufficient opportunity to address the written concerns received from the public and make any necessary revisions to the application as may be appropriate.
- Received a report regarding a Subdivision Agreement with 1714603 Ontario Inc for the lands east of King Street, West of Fleming Road, and south of Egremont (Trails Edge), passed By-law 48 of 2024, and passed a motion allocating the reserve sewage and water capacity to the development for 41 single detached dwelling units as required by the Draft Plan of Subdivision.
