Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 10th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Presented service awards to the following Wyoming Lions Club members for their service to the community:
- Don Hendrik - 59 Years of Service
- Gerald Helps - 56 Years of Service
- Trevor Hall - 55 Years of Service
- Bob Hext - 54 Years of Service
- Murray Marsh - 53 Years of Service
- Lyle Huether - 50 Years of Service
- Don Nelson - 49 Years of Service
- Harry Boers - 49 Years of Service
- Jack Dupee - 49 Years of Service
- Discussed a delegation heard at a previous meeting regarding a request for funding for work at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #176 Forest and directed staff to include the request for 2025 budget deliberations.
- Discussed Bluepoint Lookout drainage concerns.
- Received a report regarding a Wyoming Public Cemetery Capacity Update.
- Received a report regarding the Invercairn Drain Tender, accepted the tender from GM Construction for $228,090.50 including HST, and passed By-law 36 of 2024.
- Received a report regarding a Façade and Structural Improvement Program Submission for 660-662 Broadway Street and approved the application for funding.
- Received correspondence regarding dangerous intersection concerns (Egremont Road and Lakeshore Road) and directed staff to provide the letter to the County of Lambton for their consideration.
- Received correspondence regarding a request to waive half load restrictions for ForBroad Custom Homes in relation to the building of a home on Lot 9 Shoreside Drive and directed staff to lift the restrictions for ForBroad Custom Homes effective April 14th, 2024 and to work with ForBroad Custom Homes to determine an appropriate route through Plympton-Wyoming.
- Directed staff to lift the half load restrictions for the 2024 season effective April 24th, 2024 for the whole municipality.
- Received correspondence from Enbridge Gas, passed a resolution regarding Securing Access to Natural Gas for our Community and Ontario, and directed staff to send a letter to Sarnia-Lambton's MPP.
- Waived all Highland Glen boat launch fees for the 2024 Salmon Derby (May 3rd - 12th 2024).
- Held a Court of Revision meeting for the Confederation Line + Norman Street Drains.
- Held a Re-Consideration meeting for the Whiting Drain.
- Council supported the following items of correspondence:
- The Municipality of St. Charles regarding municipalities retaining surplus from tax sales
- The Township of Terrance Bay regarding energy transitions
- The Township of Adelaide-Metcalfe regarding tile drain loan limit
Camlachie, ON – At a Special Council Meeting on Thursday, April 11th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Held a Closed Meeting Educational Session to receive the Essentials of Municipal Fire Protection Training from the Office of the Fire Marshal.
