Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, March 13th 2024 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Received a delegation from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #176 in Forest regarding a request for funding for project work.
  • Received a report regarding Façade and Structural Improvement Program Submission for 597-599 Broadway Street and approved the application for funding.
  • Received a report regarding the 2024 Spring Newsletter and approved, with minor amendments, the distribution of the newsletter with the Interim Tax Billing. 
  • Received a report regarding a request for apportionment of drainage assessments and approved agreements for the apportionment of drainage assessment due to Severance of Land for the Chalmers Drain, McAusland Williams Drain, Halac Drain, East Branch of the Chalmers Drain and Park Drain. 
  • Received a report regarding the Public Facilities Agreement for North Lambton Community Health Centre, waived the license fee of $80.00, and passed By-law 19 of 2024 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the Public Facilities Agreement for Lakeshore Community Church, waived the license fee of $80.00 and gazebo rental fee of $240.00, and passed By-law 24 of 2024 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the purchase of a 1 Ton 4x4 Truck and accepted the quotation submitted by Finch Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC (of London) for $95,069.79 net HST.
  • Received a report regarding the Mobile Food and Refreshment Vehicle - Request for Proposal Results and Recommendation, accepted the Proposal submitted by Anita Coffee, and passed By-law 26 of 2024 to facilitate the agreement.
  • Received a report regarding the 'Housing Enabled Water System Fund (HEWSF) Grant Application", endorsed an application to the HEWSF for the Plympton Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks Upgrades project, and accepted the proposal from Jacobs Consulting to assist with the application.
  • Approved By-law 89 of 2023 for the Somerville Drain Improvements (2023), being a By-law to provide for drainage works in the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, in the County of Lambton.
  • Approved By-law 88 of 2023 for the Carmichael Improvements Drain (2023), being a By-law to provide for drainage works in the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, in the County of Lambton.
  • Provided comments regarding the York1 Environmental Waste Solutions Limited's application for amendments to the waste processing/transfer and disposal operation in Dresden, ON.
  • Held a Court of Revision meeting for the Invercairn Drain and confirmed the assessments on the drain as contained in the Engineer’s report.
  • Held a Consideration meeting for the Confederation Line East and Norman Street South Drain and Extension of the King-Anderson Drain 2024
  • Council supported the following items of correspondence:
    • Township of Dawn-Euphemia – Securing Access to Natural Gas
