Council Highlights
Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, January 10th 2024 the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:
- Received a delegation from County of Lambton Representatives regarding the EMS Master Plan.
- Supported a motion put forward by Councillor Rodrigues regarding Requesting an Amendment to the Conservation Authorities Act to Include Provincial Funding for Tree Planting and Education as Core Services.
- Received and approved a report regarding a Petition for Drainage Works by Owners – Lot 25, Concession 4 (5483 London Line). Council accepted the petition as filed and appointed R. Dobbin Engineering Inc. to make an examination of the area and prepare a report on the matter.
- Received and approved a report regarding the distribution of Drainage Engineer Reports and directed Staff to send all affected landowners a notice that includes a link to the online report, to mail the hard copy of the Engineers Report only to landowners abutting the drain, make all future drainage reports available online, and make hardcopies of the report available at the municipal office should landowners request one.
- Deferred a report regarding Proposed 2024 Amendments to Current Operations, Maintenance and Management Services Agreement with Jacobs. Council requested the Environmental Services Committee review the proposed amendments before they come back to Council.
- Received and approved a report regarding an application for funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation: Capital Grant supported the application for improvements to the walkability of Lakeshore Road in Urban Camlachie.
- Received and approved a report regarding Mobile Food and Refreshment Vehicle - Request for Proposal and Licensing By-law and directed staff to issue the Proposal for competitive bidding.
- Approved By-law 1 of 2024, being a By-law to Authorize the borrowing of $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) as temporary financing for the Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
- Approved By-law 3 of 2024, being a By-law to establish fees and user charges.
- Council supported the following items of correspondence:
- Clearview Township – Cemetery Administration Management Support
- City of Greater Sudbury – Amendment to the Occupational Health & Safety Act to Clarify the Definition of ‘Employer’.
- Township of Conmee regarding Pardons Required for Municipal Councillors with Criminal Records.
