Council Highlights

 

Wyoming, ON – At its Planning Council Meeting on Monday, June 24th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Received a report regarding Draft Plan of Subdivision Application 38T-24001 and Zoning By-law Amendment Application 22 of 2024.
  • Passed By-law 22 of 2024 being a By-law to amend By-law 97 of 2003.
  • Recommended to the County of Lambton that Draft Plan of Subdivision 38T-24001 be draft approved subject to the conditions included in report SR-24-097; that permanent and construction accesses be provided off Lakeshore and Egremont Road; and that draft approval condition 4.d) be changed to be a natural buffer and also include lots 15 and 16.
  • Received a report regarding changes made to the Planning Act, through Bill 185, Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024.
  • Received and approved a report regarding an assumption of 7 lots on Hillsboro Road (8156-8168 Hillsboro Rd) (Subdivision 38T-18005) and passed By-law 77 of 2024 to assume the works and services on a portion of Hillsboro Road.
  • Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 3771 Queen Street (south side of Queen Street, between Lakeshore Road and California Avenue), approved Zoning By-law Amendment 59 of 2024, and passed By-law 59 of 2024 to facilitate the amendment.
  • Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for a Zoning By-law Amendment for 5706 Lakeshore Road (southwest corner of Lakeshore Road and Townsend Line), approved Zoning By-law Amendment 60 of 2024, and passed By-law 60 of 2024 to facilitate the amendment.
  • Held a Public Meeting regarding an application for Official Plan Amendment for 0 Broadway Street (west side of Broadway Street, between Churchill Line and Isabella Street, L shaped lot), approved Official Plan Amendment 56, and passed By-law 74 of 2024.

 

Wyoming, ON – At its Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 26th, the Council of the Town of Plympton-Wyoming:

  • Presented the 2024 Plympton-Wyoming Senior of the Year Award to Sue Wright.
  • Passed By-law 76 of 2024 being a By-law to authorize the execution of an agreement between The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, as it relates to the transfer and use of the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF).
  • Passed Collection By-law 79 of 2024 for the Fleming Drain Extension and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 80 of 2024 for the Fisher Drain - Outlet Improvements and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 81 of 2024 for the Errol Road Branch Drain and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 82 of 2024 for the King-Bryson Drain and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 83 of 2024 for the Stuurman Drain and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 85 of 2024 for the Paul Drain and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 86 of 2024 for the Greenlees Drain and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Passed Collection By-law 87 of 2024 for the Passingham-Ferguson Branch Drain and imposed a pro-rata levy on the ratepayers according to the attached Schedule of Assessment which will be collected in the manner outlined within the By-law.
  • Received correspondence from the Wyoming Cattlebarons and declared the OBA Provincial AA Tournament occurring August 23rd-25th, 2024 a “Municipally Significant” event in accordance with the regulation for a Special Occasion Permit by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  • Held court of revision meetings for the following drains:
    • Maple Street Drain
    • Montgomery Drain Perry & Harrison Branch
    • Stonehouse Drain
    • Held a consideration meeting for the Braaksma Drain Extension & Branch No. 4.
    • Council supported the following items of correspondence:
      • Resolution from the Municipality of Tweed regarding a call on the province to reabsorb costs of OPP.
      • Resolution from the City of Hamilton regarding Hamilton’s designation of a paid-plasma free zone.
